You could say we’ve gotten into watches around here! The luxury timepiece is both wonderful (craftsmanship, beauty and functionality) and easy (small and accessible) to collect. As with all collectibles, though, a certain amount of upkeep and maintenance is required. Which leads us to share the following article from Bob’s Watches Rolex Blog on “How to Clean Your Rolex Watch.”
I’ll admit, being new to watch collecting, I’d not really considered the cleaning of them, but when your possessions go from expendable to collectible, you get very interested in preservation. As with oriental rugs and collectible cars, these watches can last not just a lifetime, but lifetimes, and be something we can pass down to new generations for them to enjoy and treasure. And, it turns out, while we’re blessed to be with those new generations, we can also use these moment of maintenance as an opportunity to teach new people about value, respect and collecting.
